O mundo se assustou na noite do último sábado (11) após a cantora Whitney Houston, 48 anos, ser encontrada morta em banheiro de um hotel onde estava hospedada em Los Angeles. Mas o final de semana também teria uma importante premiação, onde Houston foi lembrada e homenageada no 54º Grammy Awards, maior prêmio da música mundial.
O evento, que premiou os maiores nomes da música em 2011, aconteceu no Staples Center, em Los Angeles e contou com 78 categorias, envolvendo os mais diversos prêmios. Apresentada por LL Cool J, a premiação começou com um oração para Houston, seguida por um vídeo da cantora interpretando a canção I will Always love you.
Entre os destaques está a cantora Adele, que venceu nas seis categorias da quais foi indicada - inclusive a de Melhor Álbum - fez uma emocionante apresentação, depois de meses afastada do palco. A banda Foo Fighters também merece destaque pela conquista em importantes categorias.
